I was boring myself with my posts so I thought I'd wait a while to report in. My quest for less fat and more fitness started May 1st. I'm going to do the 60lbs in 10 lb increments because lets face it, 60 lbs is too much to even process mentally... (I'm also going to round to the nearest half pound)
Short Term Objective A: 10 lbs (Start Date: 5/1/10)
Weigh in #1: -3.5 lbs
Only 6.5 lbs to go to get to the next STO
(now isn't that easier on the psyche than 56.5 lbs??)
We went to Chili's on Wednesday night so I pulled up the nutrition info and chose something that wasn't too outrageous. You would think that in a place like that you might be better off just getting a salad or burger but that's not necessarily true... check this out:
Boneless Buffalo Chicken Salad: Calories: 1150, Fat: 84g, Carbs: 52-7 fiber=45, Sodium: 4410
Jalapeno Smokehouse Burger w/ Jalapeno Ranch: Calories: 2130, Fat: 139, Carbs: 127-10 fiber=117), Sodium: 6460
After careful consideration, I picked the "CreateYour Own Combo"
Classic Sirloin: Calories: 310, Fat: 19g, Carbs: 4-1 fiber=3, Sodium: 1440
Spicy Garlic & Lime Grilled Shrimp: Calories: 120, Fat: 8g, Carbs: 3-0 fiber=3, Sodium: 590
Black Beans: Calories: 100, Fat: 1g, Carbs: 17-6 fiber=11, Sodium: 620
Total: Calories: 510, Fat: 28g, Carbs: 24-12 fiber=12, Sodium: 2650 (outrageous!)
So all taken into consideration I did ok... after all, you can't polish a turd.
Now when my hubby cooks me a meal, not only is it delicious and healthy but also pretty! Here's his latest creation:
As for exercise, aside from bowling and some quick walks at work, I haven't done much. I've got an annoyed calf muscle so I've been avoiding exercise. I need to just suck it up...
New Exercise Short Term Objective A: Do some type of formal exercise for 30 min, 3 times per week for 1 month. (Start Date: Saturday 5/15/10)
So here's to another successful two weeks... I'll check in earlier if anything interesting happens :)
